“De-stress Yourself with Laughter”
Does life sometimes get you down? Do your kids, your workmates, or others sometimes drive you nuts? Do you feel like screaming you are so distressed on occasion?
If you do, you are normal! And there is an easy, cost-free cure for what ails you.
Here is your first S-M-A-R-TTip™:
“A joyful heart is good medicine. But a broken spirit dries up the bones!” ~ Ancient Hebrew Proverb
Go ahead! Laugh yourself silly!
That's right! You heard me. Medical and other research says instead of screaming or doing something that might get you arrested ...laugh instead!
Laugh especially when you're feeling angry or low!
According to the non-profit group, HelpGuide.org, laughter is good for your physical health and mental (I'd add emotional and spiritual) well-being because:
- Laughter relaxes your whole body! A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and dis-stress, leaving your tight muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes.
- Laughter boosts the immune system! Laughter decreases stress hormones, especially killer cortisol, and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies. It thus improves your resistance to disease.
- Laughter triggers the release of endorphins by your brain! These are the body's natural 'feel-good', chemicals produced by "good stress". Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
- Laughter protects your heart! Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
- Laughter is the best coping tool in your wellness tool kit! It provides a harmless outlet for negative emotions like anger and fear. Plus laughter is a coping mechanism for dealing with difficult and, therefore, dis-stressful situations in your everyday life.
Finally, you can't get arrested for releasing your anger and frustration by laughing out loud!
Here’s your people-relationship and life-skills S-M-A-R-TTip™
“Laugh more is one of the best stress management tips you'll ever get because it's the easiest to do, free and most effective!” ~ gfp '42™
You'll be more comfortable, less dis-stressed and enrich your life as soon as you regularly integrate my S-M-A-R-TTip™ into your wellness practises.
Give up trying to "manage your stress" like the so-called experts tell you ...right now... please! How can you manage what's hard-wired into your brain as is your reaction to negative events and people? Laugh instead!
You'll already know the wisdom of my recommendation because you have experienced the benefits of a good belly-rocking laugh.
But, using this life-skill is a choice!
And remember, quality customer/people service and living fully is a moment-to-moment choice. Plus, they result from an unending series of wise decisions.
